NY Metropolitan area is bracing for between 12-24 + -inches of snowfall in the next 12-36 hours
In anticipation of the storm, most of the Newark/Elizabeth/Bayonne container terminals have announced extended hours for Monday, March 13.
Eastern Warehouse will also be open late today (until 6pm for the loading and unloading of trucks with appointments or same-day, courtesy-call ” heads-ups”)
The container terminals, as well as the greater Seaport NJ/NY Marine Terminal area, are expected to close for all of Tuesday and most of Wednesday,
Most likely, free time and per-diem allowances will be extended due to the storm.
We will send out updated container tracking by Wednesday for all ocean drayage customers.
Assuming that all operations return to normal on Wednesday or Thursday, our goal be to accommodate each and every motor carrier who can arrive by 3:30pm and get them loaded and on their way before we go home.
Any motor carriers who are overly- concerned about possible detention scenarios, in the unlikely event that a truck might be here longer than two hours, should prepare to make appointments for pickups later in the week.
We expect to send out an update on our progress by midday tomorrow.
